Our Story

Big Cat Daddy Walleye Bar and Grill (BCDW) is an ever-evolving bar & grill.  While the business itself has been around for several decades (formerly Wayside Bar and Grill), in 2019 it came under new ownership and took on a new name, a new look and some new menu items.

We continually update our menu with new and creative dishes, while still offering many of our most requested favorites.  It is our goal to provide the best service and most competitive prices in the area.  Come check out our new look and stay for the great food, drinks and company.  See you soon!

Our Owner

Lincoln & Brandy Mikkelsen took ownership of the Wayside Bar & Grill in 2019, and immediately named it Big Cat Daddy Walleye Bar and Grill.  Lincoln had always wanted to have his own restaurant and bar.  He had even decided on the some 20 years prior, so he was serious about his venture.

The couple moved their family to Michigan in 2017, to become part of the community in which Lincoln had grown up.  The opportunity presented itself to buy the former Wayside Bar and Grill….and they began new era.

Lincoln is a graduate of Montague high school. He went on to play college baseball, and then play professionally for 18 years, both in the US and abroad.  After his baseball career, he moved to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, where he owned and operated his own healthcare related franchise.

It was in that industry where he met one of his franchise competitors, Brandy, who would later become his wife.  She is a homegrown Texas girl who attended graduate school at the University of Nebraska, but eventually found her way to Texas to start and run her own company…..and then meet her husband.

Lincoln serves as the Owner/Operator for BCDW and also coaches high school baseball for Whitehall.  Brandy works as a Global Sales Trainer for Amway Corp., and sometimes gets to pitch in to roll silverware and bus tables.  They live in Norton Shores, where their three kids attend school.

Life is good. Bring in your people to greet, eat and relax. We do the dishes.
